Bio:

Sheldon is the 5th son of the ancient noble family of Holt. The family has had roots in the ruling class for hundreds of years, surviving the rise and fall of several kingdoms, always coming through into the nobility that rises from the ashes of the old, they are survivors. The family can trace their direct lineage as far back as Lord Mokolon Belvais of Cormyr where it becomes lost. Rumor has it that Lord Belvais was of elven blood, but it has since been mingled to the extent that the Holt family show no signs of it other than the occasional golden yellow eyes in the male line.

In the most recent generations however, the family of Holt has become increasingly conservative and isolationist. Their once thriving fortunes have dwindled, and while still considered a prominent family, they no longer command the instant recognition and respect they once did in lands far from their estates. The family still runs profitable trading enterprises, but even they have suffered from being run the same way for decades simply because that is the way things have “always” been done.

It is a family tradition that younger sons set out into the world to establish new enterprises with little help from the family to join those to the family wealth. Being the youngest, Sheldon has been told it is time for him to go forth. Much to the delight of his father and older siblings who have always viewed Sheldon as something of an unpredictable, unreliable, and sometimes embarrassing member of the clan.

Sheldon is a throwback in many ways. He has the telltale golden yellow eyes of his distant elven ancestors, and though he doesn’t know it, has inherited a wanderlust and predilection for stealth that dates back just as far. Sheldon you see, was born to be a thief just like his distant ancestor. Naturally gifted in climbing and stealth, and cursed with an obsession to posses rare or unique items he is a museum keepers worst nightmare. This facet of his personality, Sheldon has kept under wraps. Even inventing an alternate persona for his thieving of such artifacts.

Most see him as the typical wastrel son of a noble line. He likes it that way. Who would think him capable of grand theft, or being a dangerous opponent when he’s just a fop who spends his days in the tavern? All that is over now though. Not only has he been sent forth to make his way in the world, and improve his family’s fortune, but events have conspired to tickle that spark of adventure and greatness that lies hidden deep within him. So he has joined with others to seek out adventure. That his choice of direction will tweak the nose of his father, is simply an added bonus.
